Inter-Public School Alumni, Golf Tournament being organised by OCA (India) Northern Chapter.

Dear OC’s,
You will be glad to know that the OCA (India) Northern Chapter is organizing its 2nd Chandigarh Alumni Golf Invitational followed by a gala Dinner ‘n’ Dance on Friday the 24th February 2017, featuring alumni from the top boarding schools of the country namely: Bishop Cotton School Shimla, The Doon School, Mayo, Lawrence School Sanawar and Welham Boys.
The Dinner is open to all Old Cottonians and will be full of activity including a live band.
The details of the event are as under: –

TIME : 7 am
Alumni Golf Tournament
VENUE: Chandigarh Golf Club, Sector -6, Chandigarh
EVENTS: Breakfast, On course prizes, overall team prizes and other activity will be happening.
DRESS CODE: Golfing attire

TIME: 11 am
Post Golf Interaction
Academy lawn, Chandigarh Golf Club
Beer and snacks for golfers.

TIME: 8 pm
EVENT: Gala Dinner ‘n’ Dance
Cocktails, activities dinner, Live Band in attendance and His Excellency The Governor of Chandigarh is our Honored Chief Guest.
VENUE : Chandigarh Golf Club, Sector – 6, Chandigarh.
DRESS CODE: Semi Formal

The all Inclusive contribution for the above event shall be Rs 2,500/-.

Please note that participation at the Dinner ‘n’ Dance is open to all OCs and their spouses and is not limited to the Golfers alone.

OCs interested in participating either in the Alumni Golf Tournament or dinner may kindly fill the entry requirement or by contacting us and then collecting the passes from the undersigned.
The same option for giving your entries is also possible at Chandigarh Golf Club itself.
Please note that entry shall be strictly by passes since a large number of participants are expected from all the above Schools.

You are also requested to kindly inform all OCs known to you.

Alumni Sports League

Alumni Sports League is an Intra-Alumni Association Engagement event which aims at establishing a culture of Sports Leagues among alumni in leading schools across the country. Through this, we aim to harness the massive passion and unifying power of sports towards a common cause of working together for many more future collaboration opportunities. This highly engaging event will also provide an opening to revive healthy competitive spirit among old-time rivals!

Alumni Sports League begins with the Alumni Football League (6 a side football on turf) which will be hosted in New Delhi on Saturday, 4th June. This event is being organized by FuturEd & Tricky Taka.

We are looking forward to bring together elite schools such as The Doon School, Welhams Boys, Lawrence School Sanawar, Bishop Cotton School Shimla and more for the first edition of this tournament.

OCA “Tricky Taka” Football get-together

Old Cottonians from the batch 2008 & 2009  got together to start “Tricky Taka“, which is a state-of-the-art, artificially grassed football infrastructure designed to promote recreational football for fitness and health.

As part of our initiative, we conducted an informal football gathering on 10th Oct 2015.
After an overwhelming response to the first edition we would, with the help of the Old Cottonians Association, we’d like to invite all Cottonians interested to attend the event.

The purpose of the event is not only to revive the spirit of sports that each Old Cottonian felt back in the School days, but also to promote fitness on a routine basis.

A 6 a side CAGE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT for football enthusiasts who love the game and enjoy some serious competition. The tournament is open for all age groups and is the first of many to come. Cottonians from various batches will be participating in the tournament with the best coming to the fore and proving their might in the Arena.

Registration:
— Not more than 6 people can register in a team.
— It is a 6 vs 6 Tournament
— Team must give the name of the players by 9th of January, Sunday.
— Registration Charges: 500 Rs/ Per Player inclusive of 3 chilled beers.
— Rewards: The winning team will be awarded with a Running Cup along with a FREE ENTRY TO THE NEXT EVENT.

1958 soccer team

BM Singh sent in this group photo of the 1958 BCS soccer team which set a record of sorts by defeating Sanawar 9-0.

Capt. Sandeep Mansukhani – Car Rallyist

Captain Sandeep Mansukhani an Old Cottonian of BCS 1992 Batch was 1st in the Sjoba Rally organised by St. John School Chandigarh in 2013.

He was navigator to Amanpreet Ahluwalia  and they had the third win in a row. 

They came 2nd in the prestigious and rough n tough Raid de Himalaya 2012.
They were 4th in the Mughal Rally 2012 organised by Himalayan Motorsports.
Sandeep, drove all these rallies in his Gypsy and was in the top 10 for the year 2011.
He was hard at work preparing for for the Mughal Rally 2013 and Raid de Himalaya 2013.
Good going Sandeep. Keep it up!
