Dear Editor OCA,
It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of my dear husband Behram D. Irani on 24th Dec. 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. He leaves behind his wife Gool, daughter Roneesha, son Kaizad and family.
Behram Irani was at BCS 1950-1954 in Lefroy House.
My.sympathies with the family although I do not remember Irani . I left in 53 good to know that Marwah and santok Singh are still on the right side of the grass . My greetings.
Very saddened to hear to hear about the passing of my dear friend, Behram. The last time I met him in person was few years back with Partap Sharma over lunch at the Bombay Yacht Club. Behram was a gem of a person.
He was a great Boxer. No one can forget the final between him and Wendy Dewan. The latter won the match, but Behram won the Best Loosers cup. Both Wendy and Behram had black & blue eyes, swollen lips and bloody noses.
May his soul rest in peace. May God provide his family strength to cope with his loss.
Thank you for your note dear Surinder. Fortunately, my Behram too had great memories of his school days. We have a photo of him after the boxing match. We were married for almost 52 years and I was fortunate to have shared this journey with him.
We miss him terribly.
Gool and family
Rest in peace Behram Irani. May God give the family strength and wisdom.
I was/am a contemporary of Jal Boga, Behram Irani – and (l believe) Joginder Chahal – at BCS during the same school years. DC Anand was senior to me by a year, but l remember him from his devoted work for the OCA.
So many good and great contemporaries of mine have passed away. I grieve for them. C’est la vie! Rest in peace, my dear friends.
I will be ninety years of age myself in April 2025. I am at peace with the world – and quite curious about what comes next!
Very sorry to hear about this.
B D Irani was a fine man. I
We had exchanged a few messages about a year ago.
I remember him from School days & he was such a good human being.
Heartfelt condolences to the family.
Rest in peace BD.
Extremely sorry to hear the sad news. I was also in Lefroy from 1952-1960 – he was living in Bombay and had a store in Crawford market. I have often enquired about him from them just was told that he lives abroad. I have fond memories of him and also you Dr Santokh Singh my house captain.
May his soul rest in peace. Condolences to the family
Regards to Santokh Singh- would love to speak to you – my mobile number 9820153182 any time.
Although I never met Mr Behram Irani ( whilst I was Chairman OCA UK) as he was based in Switzerland, I was in touch with him quite often; the OC fraternity in his part of the world organised a massive Christmas Tree that we dispatched to BCS Shimla!
Mr Irani was a thorough gentleman; I express my deepest appreciation and send my heartfelt condolences to Mrs Irani.
With Great Sincerity,
Captain Vivek “ Bonnie “ Bhasin
Lefroy 1961-1970
Very sad to know of Mr Behrami s death. All my sympathies are with the family.
