Allan Bapty (R 1936-44) passed on

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the death of one of our great Old Cottonians, Dr Allan Bapty, who passed away peacefully on 29th September and was followed by his wife who died just 6 hours after him. His Funeral is to be held on Monday 12th October.

Dr Bapty was a Medical Missionary who worked in Africa  in Leprosy Hospitals, 1953-60, until he himself contracted Leprosy, after which he returned to England to continue in General Practice there, until he Retired.

Nevertheless, he came out to Nepal to work in a Leprosy Hospital near Janakpur in 1987.

Allan was a keen Member of OCA (UK) attending all the Annual Lunches at the Bombay Brasserie, London and supporting the Himalayan Hill Schools biennial Lunches as well.
He and his wife Tricia will be greatly missed.

We pass our deepest condolences to his family.

Gay Niblett
Hon. Life President (UK)
