The Sesquicentennial Coordination-committee

THE SESQUICENTENNIAL COORDINATION COMMITTEE

It is recommended that there be a maximum of three batch coordinators each batch (year wise) for maintaining appropriate decorum for the duration of celebration.

The attached names per batch from 47 – onwards are recommended. However if any one else wishes to volunteer his services he will be more than welcome.

The Sesquicentennial Coordination Committee has further welcomed the widows of august old boys to represent as a coordinator of the husband’s class.

It has been agreed that Mr. Harish Janartha (OC) Board of Governors representative,  Mrs. Sushila Prabhudas (OCA representative) and Mr. John Whitmarsh – Knight (School representative) comprise the local governance  of the Sesquicentennial Coordination Committee along with the Headmaster working along with OCA.

The President of the OCA (India) and Executive Committee would be very grateful if Batch Coordinators advise the Coordination Committee by end July 2009 of numbers likely to attend the celebrations. Use the OCA e-mail network: oca_delhi@yahoo.com

SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS – update 8th May 09

Dear OC’s

As you are aware, our Alma Mater – Bishop Cotton School Shimla – will be celebrating its Sesquicentennial (150th) Anniversary in October 2009.  To commemorate this historic occasion, a series of events are planned between October 2-5, 2009.  A tentative Programme has been drawn up by the School in consultation with the Board of Governors and a copy is attached for your information.  I hope you will plan on joining the Celebration which will give you an opportunity to re-live cherished memories and also meet with many of your School friends and Classmates.

For participating in the Sesquicentennial Celebrations in October 2009, it is proposed that a sum of Rs.10,000/- be charged as Participation Fee from OC’s.  For OC’s who have graduated in the year 2000 or thereafter, the Participation Fee will be Rs.5,000/-.  (The entry Fee will remain the same irrespective of whether the OC attends singly or as a couple).  However, OC’s are free to contribute more if they so desire.  The additional contribution received will go towards funding the participation of those OC’s who might find it difficult to pay Rs.10,000/-.

In addition to the Participation Fee, an amount of Rs.1000/- per passenger will be charged if you wish to travel in the Special train from Kalka to Shimla.  This will cover the cost of snacks, beverages, lunch to be served in the train.

In addition to the above, you will be required to arrange your own accommodation in Shimla.  The OCA is making efforts to help OC’s to finalise accommodation in Shimla on preferential rates.

We enclose herewith application for registration for participation.  You are kindly requested to fill in the same and forward to us by email along with recent passport size photograph of yourself and your wife to enable us to register you and to make the required ID.  Please note that without registration ID, participation will not be possible.

All Indian Resident participants are requested to send their Participation Fee along with train reservation fee (if required) by issue of  Cheque favouring”OLD COTTONIANS ASSOCIATION (INDIA)” and forward the same by courier to:-

Best Regards
