OCA Canada Updates / OC Boat Cruise

Updates and OC Boat Cruise of the Thousand Island on Saturday July 19th 2014 3 pm.

On behalf of all OC’s in the Greater Toronto Area, we want to welcome you to join us on a boat cruise leaving from Gananoque on the Canadian side, visiting Boldt Castle on the US side and the Thousand Islands.

It is a wonderful drive from Toronto along Lake Ontario.
I am enclosing the website http://ganboatline.com/ComingFromToronto.asp.
The website for Boldt Castle is http://www.boldtcastle.com/visitorinfo/

The total time is for the cruise is 5 hours. You can go online and book your tickets.

We have been meeting for the last 12 years and we are growing.

I have always believed in a collaborative leadership with everyone having a voice.

Gurpreet Singh Bhogal is responsible for the OCA Facebook and will adding pics. He can be reached at aoltoronto@gmail.com

Inder Dhillon is responsible for communications via Doodle and engaging with all graduates from 2000 onwards. He can be reached at inderpartap.dhillon@gmail.com

We will continue to have 3 events on a formal basis. A dinner in the spring, an outing in the summer and a dinner again in the fall.

I will be giving dates in advance that way we can all plan going forward.

Some of the events going forward will be attending Stratford for the Shakespeare Festival, attending a vineyard for wine tasting,  and the Shaw Festival on Niagara on the Lake.

There is a good chance that I will be visiting India next year and plan to meet Ashwini, Ajay, Arun and get some best practices from you guys.

Take care and look forward to seeing you on the 19th.

PS. Please bring your passport with you and inquire if you need a US visa.

Jerry

The Toronto OCA is growing leaps and bounds in the last 15 years. It is interesting to see OC’s graduate from universities, get married, becoming fathers, husbands and grandfathers.

The wives are always surprised to see a 80 year old OC bonding with a 20 year old. We all went through the same life style. John drove 7 hrs just to have meal with us. It is always interesting to hear his story of BCS during partition. The young lads are all doing well, with MBA’s working in consulting, accounting and the wealth management landscape.

PS Yesterday I called Stanley Kumar at YPS Patiala and Mr Jerry Yuhanna at Alexander School in Amritsar. In two minutes they recognized my voice and knew my first and last name. It has been 30 years since I left school. They have seen 30 batches graduate from two different schools, yet the memory of a boarding school teacher amazes me.
